Women's Goalkeeper Glove
In Canada, women have been playing soccer for many years and they have accomplished much. Currently, the Canadian Women’s National Team is raked 5th by FIFA with 2006 points, indicating that our female soccer players are performing at a very high level. We are lucky to have such a talented generation of footballers who serve as role models and inspiration to our young athletes. Their dynamism is contagious and they are entertaining to watch. Therefore, it is not surprising that every year, we are seeing more women’s soccer games on television and at live games, stands and stadiums are full. Although, female soccer is growing, at GoKeeper, we believe more can be done to give female soccer the recognition that it deserves.
One of the reasons why we partnered with SP is because of their commitment to support the female soccer community, not only by providing them with quality goalkeeper products but most importantly for their commitment to work with female goalkeepers in the design and testing of the gloves. This relationship started with Pedro Mayo (Director of SP Futbol), Sara Serrat (Sporting Huelva) and Esther Sullastres (Zaragoza CFF). Pedro wanted to know what challenges female goalkeepers had when choosing and using their gloves. The answer was consistent: men’s hands are wider than women’s. They had to play with goalkeeper gloves that fit their hands in terms of length but had excessive room in the width.
As a result of this collaboration and after several months of testing, the 1st generation of SP Earhart gloves was created. Since then, SP has continued to work with female goalkeepers in the evolution of the SP Earhart glove and as a result of this partnership, every year SP surprises the women’s soccer community with revolutionary and spectacular goalkeeper gloves for women.
Some of the features of the SP Earhart glove are:
Professional performance Gigagrip (GG) latex.
A slimmer cut with a Hybrid rollfinger + negative cut.
Anti-sliding gel on the fingertips.
A slimmer closure so your wrist stays locked in place.
A harder material in the backhand, protecting the weakest points of the hand.
The name of this glove, EARHART, is in honour of Amelia Earhart, a legend in the fight for women’s equality. Amelia Earhart was an American aviation pilot who became a force to be reckoned with in the aviation world, which at that time was controlled by men. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Besides that record, she obtained many others. During an attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island.

At GoKeeper, we our very proud of all of our female soccer players and especially our Canadian female goalkeepers. We are thrilled that talented Canadian goalkeepers such as Sarah Charnock (University of Acadia), Morgan Berg (University of Waterloo) are wearing SP goalkeeper gloves. Yazmeen Jamieson goalkeeper for the Jamaican National team has also joined us and she is wearing the SP Pantera glove. This is a really exciting year for Yazmeen since she has a real chance to achieve her dream of being part of the FIFA Women's World Cup in France in 2019.
We invite you to try the latest generation of the SP Earhart glove and encourage you, regardless of your level of play, to provide us with your feedback and comments about the gloves!
